bliss...
Had an awesome day out with Deb. Paid for one of her anniversary presents and we finally had an anniversary lunch. (ten days late but what the heck). Tomorrow I tag her another present as well. Even though we do not live in the same house these days today we proved we are still in each others' minds. The gift I will be tagging tomorrow is a beautiful urn that looks like that for storing the ashes of a child. Now it is not in use, both the inner and outter lids have not been sealed. Deb thinks it is beautiful and the amazing thing is, we lost 3 children due to miscarriages at different stages of Debs' pregnancy and I had the thought in my mind that the urn could be a symbol for those we lost and could not bury. Today, Deb said that was what she was going to be thinking of the urn for and I had not told her what I had been thinking. 13yrs married and 17 together, I guess it is not suprising we are often on the same wavelength. It is Deb and my 13th wedding anniversry today so I like to do I have done her a poem to mark the day. This Year the 13. This is our thirteenth year that we have been wedded, A number thought to be unlucky by some. Thirteen is a number most dreaded, But for me it is a herald of many more years for us to come. On this thirteenth year my love for you still does burn, And as always for you my heart rate does race. Live from the 'beast'...
Or 'War Machine' as I have nicknamed the new laptop. Typing this in bed on the new laptop. :) I have nicknamed it 'War Machine' as I have a red one I called 'Mark II' after the Iron Man suit of armour and since this one is grey it had to be called War Machine. I still want to get the toy of Tony Stark's mini Arc Reactor, the chest mounted one and fix it to the cover of 'Mark II' laptop and now I want one for this one too. Yes, I am a geek and proud of it. I finally got to play Rage which I have had since the day of the Australian release (thanks to Deb tagging it in Sydney). I really enjoyed the game, even though I beat it in three sittings. I did not do all the side missions so I will be replaying it. I played some of Batman:Arkham Asylum last night. I made it up to Bane and after getting my butt handed to me a couple of times by him I decided to call it a night. I also have Bioshock2 on here which I have had a good slog at and tonight I in stalled Half Life 2, Half Life 2:Episode One and Half Life 2:Episode Two. I have played these three all the way through a few times but like them, except of course for the driving sequences. I have not played WoW for a while due to a prob after the latest patch and then a payment prob. Hopefully the payment prob will be fixed today and then I will have a run at it. I am not putting WoW on this one. I just re-watched Lost Boys:The Thirst. I love the first Lost Boys so much. Lost Boys 2:The Tribe was 'meh'. But I really like The Thirst. Don't hate me for admitting that. I also finally got around to watching Quarantine 2. It was okay, just what I was expecting it to be. I also watched the latest Underworld movie and the Tintin movie. Underworld was a lot of fun. Left open for another one too. And I enjoyed Tintin. And of course that one was left open for more to come. There are so many movies coming out that I really want to see, like The Avengers. The bad thing of course is because the closest movie theatre is a good six or so hours away and we do not have a working car and even if we did, Deb cannot drive that far and I don't travel so well etc etc, I will be waiting until they hit DVD before I get to see them. I am so glad the cold weather has set in here. My brain is working so much better again as it always does during the cold weather. Deb nd I got new laptops. Mine is gonna be for gaming and movies etc. I christened it by loading Btman:Arkham Asylum the gme nd Bioshock 2 on it. I ended up playing Bioshock2 from 7:30pm to 3:30am. :) Last night I did horror movie night and watched them in bed with the new laptop. I re-watched Pulse (Wes Craven had a hand in it) and Dean Koontz' Phamtoms (which rocks as he wites the screenplay) and watched for the first time Pulse 2. Today, even though I was awake once again for way more than 24hrs straight I did quite a bit of writting. New character ideas, 2 pages of 'epic' notes, etc. My wife, my darling Muse, inspired some little love philosophy thoughts so I thought I would share some. For you Deb. :) Queen of mine own heart. Having one of 'those' evening due to chronic pain flair up (spine not playing fair) nd depression caused by my closest friend in town (not counting Deb of course she is my bestest friend ever) basiclly calling moi a liar about things regarding my health. Seems that a degenerating spine can be fixed due to stretching exercises even though it is the bones themselves that are degenerating. Question me on what I meant by my spine and what is wrong with it. When I mentioned bnormal vertebrae in my neck and the start of something similiar in my lower spine he demanded to know what I meant about abnormal etc and had I seen a dr etc etc. Confrontational whole conversation right from the start. Even about my opinion on movies, te Tao etc. I know everybody has their bad days, but being called a liar about something you cannot change and is getting worse still hurts. work work
Cureently my mind is focused on the newest collection of vampire/supernatural creature themed erotica tales as well as on the Epic. Due to the vampire tales I have been going through my collection of movies. Recently I tagged 'We are the Night' and I have to say it really helped due to the fact the latest collection is focused on female to female vampire/supernatural creature interactions. I have to say the concept of 'We are the Night' really appealed. (briefly, no male vamps have existed for years) So if anyone still reads this, let moi know if you have a fav two vampire movies for me to check out. Not much has been going on. Designed and drew up my first i-phone case design. Gonna scan it up in the next couple of days. Got a few more ideas for i-phone and i-pad cases but I have to wait until I get more pens. wandering of now to play some WoW. Have my third toon close to 85. This one is a Blood Elf Paladin and I have to admit I am having as much fun with him as I have had with my 'lock and my Death Knight. still alive...
I know I have been quiet on here again but I have been burying myself in work. Done 9 'toonish coffee mug pics for the locl bakery. Gotten more artwork for t-shirts done. Gotten the first chapters of 'the epic' to 240+ pages. (will post a word count on here for my own benefit) and realized that as well as having the rough skeleton for the first installment of this storyline done I also have the rough skeletons (200ish pages each) for the second and third installments done. So should have something very soon to try and see if I can tag a writer's agent etc. Also came up with an idea for a small book of lesbian and female bi-sexual themed erotica with the supernatural themed vampire etc tales. The title for the book is a play on the title of a song. Deb crcked up so much when i bounced it off her and really liked the idea. I will post more about the title soon. As well as all the t-shirt, coffee mug, mouse pad etc pic stuff I have been doing I will be doing some I-phone case designs too. I will post these up when they are done. I was so happy when I found this. I have been looking for something like this for years. I want for myself one with a cut citriene in it. This is silver and the stone is a round cut amethyst. Designed to look like it is a thistle. Has hallmark etc on back. Actually managed to find it in this small country town we live in which blew me away. It was a present for Deb and she knew how long I had been trying to find one so she loves it.  Now here's hoping I can find the type I want for moi. I need to take a photo of the spear I got myself for my b'day/xmas present. As I only got that instead of getting myself it and Gimli's axe I maybe tagging myself this cool, six barreled steampunk hand cannon Deb and i found online, or a couple of 'puter games. Been workng on the Epic again. The first chapters are now 240typed pages. One of the new caracters has been inserted and I have 11 more hand written pages of the hisory of her people to add. I have handwritten the intro to the second new character as well I just need to type it up. Oh and on the 'my toon pics on t-shirts' front, Deb's daughter and her daughter's other half have opened their 'puter etc store in town and they are happy with me selling my work in there. I designed a character for Deb's daughter ages ago, coming up with five pics of her. I re-inked them up using some of the new techniques I now use and showed her four done the new way and left the fifth in the old style so she could compare. She liked the new look so when the fifth is inked up I will scan them and then print them and she wants to frame them and have them hanging in the shop. Also she thinks they will look good as t-shirts. Oh and Deb has taken over the running of the little local paper. She also is doing work on the local council too. I ask if for today everyone can keep my eldest son in their thoughts as he is going in for surgery on his knee again. This is the second time he has had to have it operated on. Though it is only day surger he and Deb have a long trip there and back. So please, keep them in your thoughts. On a weird note, Daemone (my son) and I have had the same surgery. strange tasks...
So, how did you spend your aftenoon? Well for me I spent mine working on a lifesized replica of a Battle-Mage's 'War-wand'. A cross between a wand and a mace. It is wood and it is gem 'studded'. I have to attach wire to the haft of it and afix the gems so they are a little more secure and then I may do some design work on it with pen. some glyphs or wards etc. I will pot a pic of it. This one is for me but I hope to make other that will be for sale. Also for those who are interested Deb started a facebook account for my work. I don't have the exact link for it but it is done under the company name 'Crude Designs'. I don't have a say about what is up on there. Deb puts up what she likes. an work-wie here is a little thing i wrote from the perspective of Morgan La Fey(sp) on the various non weapon weapons she employed. Morgaine. When your life begins in an infamous act, infamy becomes second nature to you. You wear it as others would don a cloak. It becomes your shield, it becomes a tool and most of all it can become a most powerful weapon. With infamy in your arsenal, you seek other weapons of a similar ilk. Terror, wickedness, hatred, rage and seduction fill your quiver and become the shafts you aim at the hearts of your enemies. And you become very well versed in their use, as handled incorrectly, these weapons can cut you and wound you as grievously as they wound your foes. But as she shouted out her kitch window one day at me when she heard me unlocking my front door using the delightful term 'F@@##ing C%$t' I can only guess it was something not nice. Not sure what I have ever done to her but she has been a nasty piece of work sinc he moved in. ah well. since I am up and too distacted now to do any work I am gonna play some WoW. Mortality Thoughts. To dwell in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die, but to be immortal and one way to exist possibly to end of time. Calling on the Collective once more..
I find myself needing help tracking 2 things. One is a tv show that is like the X-files and Millenium, but they actually investigate real supernatural crimes. It is a fictional show and they have many agents with different specialities. One ep sticks in my mind the most has the agents investigating vampires that have claimed victims in a rave club. The second thing is a movie that is a combination of live action and anime. It is set in a future Earth where a giant pyramid hangs over the city it is set in. The Egypitian Gods are inside the pyramid and one of them is set to be executed so he goes down into the city trying to find a male body to bond with. He finds a body in the form of that of a political prisionor who was in a floating prison that malfunctioned. He loses his foot in the fall and the God shapes him one out of iron from a railway line. There is a lot of strange creatures in the world. The main femal character is very perculiar. There is even a bright red shark sapien like hitman. The God begets a child off the main female character and the child can turn from human form to that of a bird. I hope these are enough clues. a little dark poetry
This was something that came to mind in that half asleep half awake state and was inspired by thoughts on the Three Brides that Dracula usually has. The Ladies Three. The Lady in the White Dress has come to dance with me, The Lady in the White Dress has come this night to set me free. The Lady in the Red Dress has come and she moves in a way much the same, The Lady in the Red Dress has come this night to consume me with Passion’s hot flame. The Lady in the Black Dress has come and she is light on her feet, The Lady in the Black Dress has come this night with kisses so sweet. The Ladies Three come to me always when night is deep, The Ladies Three come to me this night though to escort me to my Final Sleep. Lawrence Cottam 2012 Happy New Year. Oh and I get to say this now for the very first time- I am waiting for a spear to come in the mail. An elven spear even. I decided to only go with one replica weapon for myself as a combined work reward/b'day present/xmas present thing. But only getting one piece ment that I was able to buy the bag and box of robotics components I had put aside. Every time I write down about buying myself the robotics components I have to fight the urge to type 'MWUAHAHAHA!' afterwards. resuming our broadcast....
After a general communications blackout due to the general emotional crap of the season minus a couple of smaller posts on here I am back in the mood to do some posting. Today I finally get to order the boyz belated Xmas presents. Not putting what they are up on here 'cause the shortman has tried to find out a few times what I am tagging him. I also get to reward myself and buy a combined b'day, xmas present too which I hope to order today as well. Both will be replica weapons. I am tagging myself a replica weapon from Lord of the Rings and a piece by Kit Rae. Both pieces will be a first of their kind in my collection of metal replica weaponry but one will be the second piece from Lord of the Rings. The first from that being the replica of Arragon's non magical hand and a half or 'bastard' sword from when he was known as Strider. I tagged that one as it looked like a plain 'working man's sword' as it has no runes, no gems etc. It was as close as I could get to a sword that looks like the one my hero in 'the epic' wields. His though is magical, being designe to survive being exposed to tremendous temps as it was designed to pierce the hearts of elementals. This means it can also survive having a lot of power and flames that burn at intence temps channeled through it and this is one aspect of my heres powers. (He channeled what he thinks of as the 'Gods' Fire' through a normal steel sword and once he extinguished the flames the whole sword became notthing but ashes) The weapons I am getting myself this time look like none of the weapons in any of my pieces of work, the Kit Rae piece being an incredible spear and the Lord of the Rings piece being Gimli's bearded axe (though many character's in my pieces wield spears and bearded axes, none that I have pictured in my head look like these pieces do). I passed up tagging myself a life sizzed replica pistol from Gears of War 3 but have added it to the list of things to get later. I am putting aside money and will be using this to tag Deb a piece of jewelry, probably a ring for our tenth wedding anniversary. Now we are past our 12th and I tagged her a good present etc but over the years, due to my allergic reaction to it, I have not tagged Deb many gold rings. The last one was for our 32d anniversary and it was yellow gold, rose gold and I think white gold entiwned together. I would love to tag her either something gold, white gold or even platinum.The one thing I would love to get her a piece made of is electrum but I don't know f many jewelers that use it now a days. I would love to get a piece made out of naturally occuring electrum as it kind of is like how Deb and I are. We are a strange combination of elements. :) I know I did not put what I was getting the boyz on here but just put a lot about the gift I hope to save up for to get Deb, but the difference is I have discussed this gift with her already. Okies, now that I am done rambling about a combination of gifts for myself and my loved ones with a little chunk of ideas etc from one of my one long form pieces of writting I think that will do for now. Most of this is just for my record I guess and due to the fact it is past 2am and I am awake yet again. I will be posting more work, both writing and 'art' up on here soon. much better mood now.
My beautiful wife is no longer allowed to say she has a bad memory. For Christmas she tagged me 2 books by an author/artist I have loved for years. She also tagged me this mini toolkit that is going to be a huge help in the making of the replica wizard staves and wands and the steam-punk and techno punk jewelry and replica gadgets etc I used to make. It is so good to have some thing tht allows me to put a step in the right direction. I have a tool box full of old tubes from old radios etc that I am waiting to use to do some of the steam punk/techno punk/cyber punk things I have ideas for and now with this tool kit I can soon start to put things together. I just need some things like a pin drill and some good smaller power tools etc. If I have not said it beofre enough on here, I so totally love my beautiful wife and ove her more each day. And i am constantly amazed she fell in love with a damaged man beast like moi. Love you Deb. L |
